LPSC ADA Policy

The Louisiana Public Service Commission aims to ensure that people with disabilities have equal access to the government services we offer. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, in accordance with state and federal accessibility regulations.

Business and Executive Session

In accordance with La. Revised Statute 42:17.2.1, the Commission has adopted the following procedures to facilitate members of the public’s participation in our Business & Executive ("B&E") meetings who have a disability recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") or such person’s designated caregiver.

Accommodations

Should a member of the public wish to attend the Commission’s B&E meeting, but need ADA accommodations, please fill out the Request for Accommodations Form and submit it to the Commission’s ADA Coordinator, Sara Simpson, at sara.simpson@la.gov. Should you have any questions regarding the form, please reach out to Mrs. Simpson via the same email address or by telephone at (225) 342-6123.

Public Comment

Should a member of the public wish to provide comment at a Commission B&E meeting, but is unable to attend due to an ADA disability, such person may submit comments electronically to sara.simpson@la.gov. All comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. the day before the meeting and must include the following information:

  1. Exhibit Number;
  2. Commenter’s first and last name;
  3. Who the commenter represents, if anyone other than him/herself;
  4. The comment (please keep comments as succinct as possible).

All comments received electronically prior to 4:30 p.m. the day before the Commission’s Business & Executive meeting will be accepted as a public comment, and will read into the record during the meeting.
